Dear KWSQA Members and Supporters,

We’re taking a break from our virtual KWality Talks series in August, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to send out a more general update about what you can expect from the KWSQA in the coming months, and some ways you can get involved.

First of all, thank you all so much for continuing to participate in our virtual events this year! Although we do miss the in-person interactions (and the M&M cookies from Mambella’s), it’s been a great way to remain connected with our community. We plan to hold virtual KWality Talks in September, October, and November to close out our 2021 season. We’ll have to wait and see what the next few months bring, but we’ll re-evaluate early next year whether in-person events might be feasible again some time in 2022.

Did you miss a virtual KWality Talk that you were hoping to attend? We post recordings of all of these events in our YouTube Channel. While you’re there, click the Subscribe button so that you can be notified about future videos as well.

If you’re interested in presenting at a virtual KWality Talk this fall, let us know via our KWality Talks CFP form.

We’re also looking for a local startup to partner with us on a virtual Testing Games event over the next few months. To learn more about these events, or if you’d like to apply to co-host one, please visit the Testing Games section of our web site. It’s a great opportunity to get feedback from some of the best testing minds in Waterloo Region!

Finally, you may have noticed on our web site that we are currently offering Sustaining Memberships at a cost of $20. Purchasing one of these is a great way to help support our organization while we are operating without an income stream. And if you live or work in Waterloo Region, a Sustaining Membership is required in order to vote or run in our Board of Directors election this year. The election will take place in a few months’ time, just prior to our Annual General Meeting.

Stay healthy and enjoy the rest of your summer – hope to “see” you soon!

Sincerely,

Tina Fletcher
KWSQA President
