Speaker: Martijn Goossens

Overview: We like this craft. Testing, quality assurance, whatever you might call it. But if we focus only on our craft in our jobs, we might end up being the only person on the team concerned about testing and quality. And while many other talks at this conference might give you something to learn, the learning doesn’t have to stop here.

During his QA career, Martijn has grown the most by learning from his non-QA peers. He learned about usability from a UX friend and performance testing from friends in the application management team. Teaching him valuable skills that made him a better tester. This talk is about breaking silos and how this can help you in your testing role. Martijn will talk about improving your testing craft with the help of friends in other parts of your company.

We will discuss likely candidates in every organization and Martijn will give you tips on forming these alliances. Learning from other fields is a good way to upskill yourself. This also opens the door for them to ask QA questions to you, where you can leave behind part of your passion for testing and quality. Making YOU a better test friend and your team better at testing.

Bio: Martijn has over 19 years of experience in the QA field. He started as an Agile QA automation engineer and has fulfilled various QA leadership roles for the past 8 years. Martijn is ISTQB and TMAP certified and is a frequent participant in QA meetups and conferences. $Topic: Elevate your GenAI driven Testing with long term memory using vector database In today’s world, creation of Test Cases and Automation Test Scripts using tools likeChatGPT or AWS Bedrock has become commonplace. However, these efforts often stay within the immediate context of the testing session or the specific area of the application that is shared during the conversation. For instance, when providing details about a User Story, the generated test cases are typically specific to the given content. Imagine extending this capability to generate test cases\automation scripts based not only on current information but also leveraging past releases data and other interconnected areas that may be directly impacted. This is where the integration of Vector Database with GenAI APIs comes into play. This integration not only facilitates the generation of contextually rich test cases\scripts but also enables the storage of data for training and storing in the database for future use. This presentation aims to provide insights into leveraging GenAI APIs with Vector Database to generate both component as well as End-to-End test cases based on provided User Story details and past learnings. It will demonstrate how the integration establishes context through User Story to Test Case Mapping, resulting in the generation of comprehensive End-to-End Test Cases. Beyond functional test cases, the presentation will deep dive into the generation of comprehensive automation scripts using these test cases. It will also showcase how you can customize the generation of automation script as per your automation framework with vector embeddings. Bio: Jigesh Shah is an Engineering Manager specializing in Quality Assurance, with extensive experience in the eLearning and Healthcare industries. He has developed numerous reusable testing tools, frameworks, and templates, significantly enhancing testing efficiency. Currently, he provides innovative testing solutions that improve quality for both US and global clients. Jigesh has played a pivotal role in test advisory, management, planning, and execution, and has led offshore testing efforts. His expertise also extends to Performance Engineering, SQL optimization, system resource monitoring, and the implementation of Generative AI technologies in testing processes, achieving a 20% increase in overall efficiency. Mradul Kapoor is a QA leader who He specializes in fast-paced, large-scale implementations with low- and no-code platforms and QA delivery. He leads the overall quality assurance (QA) for client’s deliverables including setting up a large-scale testing practice and Testing Center of Excellence (TCoE) to achieve optimum quality standards across various pillars of quality per business specifications, agreed timelines, and effective cost. He is experienced in setting up and managing large-scale TCoE across the shore with the latest QA technology stacks for Fortune 500 firms, as well as startups. Topic: Are you sure your APIs are secure? An introduction to API security testing

APIs are responsible for more than 80% of all internet traffic. Therefore, it shouldn’t be surprising that people with malicious intent are trying to gain unlawful access to systems and data through APIs more and more often.

As a result, it’s important that we, as testers and developers, are aware of the security of the APIs that are used in our systems. But where do you get started with testing the security of your APIs? And isn’t that really complex?

In this talk and live testing demo, we will use the 2023 OWASP API security top 10 to learn more about some of the most common API security vulnerabilities. You’ll see that, even without specialized tools and deep security testing knowledge, you can uncover valuable information about the security of your APIs and get better insights into whether your data and your systems are safe and secure.

After this talk, you will have seen that common sense and a healthy dose of curiosity go a long way to get started with API security testing.
