As the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact our daily lives, we are making our 2021 KWality Talks available online for free.

Register: Online Using Eventbrite, Zoom link will be included in registration confirmation email

Location: Online

Time: Stream will start at approximately 11:55 am. Meeting starts at 12:00 pm. Meeting ends at approximately 1:00 pm.

Speaker: Blake Walters and Graeme Harvey

Topic:
We can measure activity, we can measure delivery, but when we measure the performance of our engineering teams, are we measuring the things that really make a difference? And, if not, how can we succeed in the tricky challenge of measuring every task an engineer does so that it creates a positive outcome for the business?

Join Blake Walters and Graeme Harvey who will be discussing how you can measure the performance of your engineering teams using the metrics that matter most.

We will cover:

  • Business metrics
  • Velocity metrics
  • Morale metrics

Bio:
Blake is the Director of Engineering for Growth and Data at CircleCI, working remotely out of his home in Longmont, CO. He’s a product engineering focused leader, working with teams supporting CircleCI’s user journey and customer data needs. Outside of work, he’s a husband and a dad, an avid amateur photographer, a serious car nut, and spends what little free time he has left playing as many video games as possible.

Graeme is the Engineering Manager for the Data Insights team at CircleCI, based in the Kitchener-Waterloo region. He brings a storied history from his experience across software quality, automation development, and agile team management backgrounds to help his teams perform at their best. Beyond work hours, Graeme spends much of his time with his family, and occasionally mountain bikes and plays ultimate frisbee.
